publish.dev ("we") creates and hosts custom content sites. This policy explains what personal information we handle when you use our Service, visit our site, or visit a customer site we host. Contact us at legal@publish.dev.
1. Information we handle
We get information from you, your connected accounts, your device, and providers that help us run the Service:
- Your name, email address, account details, and messages you send us.
- Your plan, charges, and payment status. Our payment provider handles your payment card details.
- GitHub account and repository details, change information, and files in the
publish.osfolder you select. - IP addresses, browser and device data, requested pages, and error or security records.
We do not target children or knowingly collect their account information without the process required by law.
2. Why we use it
We use this information to provide and bill for the Service, answer requests, protect it, and meet legal duties.
We send marketing email only if you opt in. Each marketing email has an unsubscribe link. We still send messages needed for your account, payments, and the Service.
Where EU or UK law applies, we use our contract to provide the Service, our legal duties to keep required records, and our legitimate interests to answer requests and protect the Service. We use your consent for marketing email.
3. Your code and hosted sites
3.1. GitHub files
Our GitHub connection is read-only. We use repository details and change information to find the publish.os folder you select. We use files in that folder to build and host your site. We do not read, copy, or store file contents outside that folder. We do not clone your repository or use your code or content to train models. We do not give your code or content to others for their own use.
3.2. Visitors to customer sites
Customer sites are public by default. We process visitor requests, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect these sites. Each customer decides what other visitor information its site collects. The customer must give visitors its own privacy notice and handle requests about that use.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Our site uses cookies for sign-in and security, and browser storage for your settings. Customer sites can use their own cookies. Read the customer's privacy notice for those uses.
5. Who receives information
Providers handle information for us when they provide sign-in, hosting, payments, email, support, or security. They receive only the information needed for that work. We also disclose information when law requires it or to address fraud, abuse, or a threat to people or the Service.
We operate from Canada. Providers can process information in other countries, including the United States. Local laws can apply to that information. We use transfer safeguards when law requires them.
6. How long we keep information
We keep site files while the site is active. After paid Service ends, we can keep them for a reactivation period. We then delete them, unless law requires longer retention.
We keep account, billing, support, and security records while needed to run the Service, handle disputes, or meet legal duties. We delete or anonymize them when those reasons no longer apply.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. You can object to or ask us to limit some uses. You can withdraw consent and complain to a privacy authority where law gives you those rights.
Send requests or privacy complaints to legal@publish.dev. We can ask you to confirm your identity before we respond. If your request concerns information collected by a customer site, contact that customer first.
8. Security and changes
We limit access to personal information and use safeguards to protect it. We notify affected customers promptly when the risk and applicable law require notice.
We update this policy when our practices change. We post the new date here and give notice when law requires it.
